GENERAL QUESTIONS

I own Watch My Domains Pro / Domain Name Analyzer / Domain Punch Professional.  How is Watch My Domains / ISP different?

Watch My Domains / ISP is meant for internet service providers who need to manage a large number of domains that belong to their customers. Watch My Domains / ISP was created at the request of a number of customers who required such a software.

The original Watch My Domains can handle large number of domains (depending on your system capability).  However it will not be able to handle domain lists that are tens of thousands long.  Watch My Domains / ISP uses a Microsoft MDB file storing the information and can handle very very large lists.

• WMD / ISP allows you to retrieve information using SQL queries.
• The software uses SQL queries to quickly display domains that interest you. You can sort and display domains that satisfy a number of conditions.
• Domain look ups are controlled through rules that you can customize. For example, it is possible to instruct the software to do a new lookup on all domains that were created before 1998.

Watch My Domains ISP v3 includes almost all the features of Domain Punch Professional and more . The main difference between the two is that WMD ISP uses an Access MDB file for data storage and has the ability to use SQL queries to control lookups and display.

The new version 3.0 has a number of additional features including Domain Calendar, Enhanced SQL Queries, Custom Fields, etc that are not available in Domain Punch pro.

Support for Country Code Domains

Does Watch My Domains / ISP support all global and country code domains? ORG ?

The new version 3.0 supports all global and country code domains that have a valid whois server (normally on port 43). Software may need to be configured in some cases. If you know the whois server for the domain this will take only a few minutes.

Most of the well known global and country code domains are already supported without the need for any configuration. These include Com, Net, Org, Biz, Info, US, UK, AU, etc.

Domain registrars and resellers (who need to make whois queries on a different port other than 43) can configure the software to use a different port.

Domains that have specific Name Servers

Is it possible to find all domains that use a specific name server? For example, we want to generate a list of all domains that are configured to use DNS servers managed by us.

Yes, this is possible but requires some extra work and processing power. What you need is access to the zone files and a software for processing the zone file.  Please see Domain Zone Processor.

Usage Restrictions

Are there any restrictions on the use of WMD / ISP?

Yes, The software should be used only to manage domains that belong to direct customers and clients. 

Under no circumstances this software may be used to allow, enable or otherwise support the transmission by email, telephone or facsimile of mass unsolicited, commercial advertising or solicitations.
