What is Watch My Domains ISP?

Watch My Domains ISP v3 is our top of the line domain name management software! If you have to manage or monitor a large number of domains and require the flexibility and features of a database supported domain name management solution Watch My Domains ISP is the only choice!

The new features in the latest v3 include Domain calendar view, ability to globally over-ride individual whois-server connection settings, support for custom database fields, manual data editing, full Unicode support, Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) and much more! Watch My Domains ISP uses a Microsoft Access MDB Database for data storage. The use of a proper database makes it very powerful and free from many of the limitations associated with a regular flat file data storage. It can also manage tens of thousands of domain names from within a single file. You can also build on it by adding your own Access modules and data entry forms.

You can use Watch My Domains ISP even if you don't have Microsoft Access. You can even open the database file created by the software using Open Office (use "Connect to database using ODBC")

Watch My Domains ISP is targeted at ISPs, registrars and hosting companies and any one who who manages (and or monitors) large number of domains. You can use it to maintain the domain records, billing information and also integrate with an existing customer database.

Does Watch My Domains ISP contain all the features of Domain Punch Professional?

Yes, and much more! However there are some feature differences (primarily because of the database back end in WMD ISP). Please see below for a list of supported features in WMD ISP.

What is new in version 3?

• A completely new interface and codebase. Almost all features are easily accessible with minimum number of clicks. The user interface is also highly configurable. You can create your own toolbars and keyboard shortcuts.
• You can now create additional database fields from within the software. Add fields like Invoce Amount, Invoice Date, etc. You can view and edit the additional fields from within the software.
• A completely new Domain Calendar View that allows you to see the domain expiry dates within an on-screen calendar. Quickly find domains that are expiring each month.
• Full unicode support! You can now see non-english whois data if the appropriate code pages installed.
• Inbuilt native IDN support. You can add domains in non English languages and the software will automatically convert the names to Punycode before a lookup!
• An enhanced interface for configuring whois lookup settings. You can now setup everything from a single interface.
  
  Previous version required multiple interfaces for configuring whois server settings.
• Globally over-ride connection interval and connection count settings for all whois servers. This allows you to speed up the whois lookups whenever you want to do a small set of lookups. The over-ride is applicable to the current software session. Please note that you should do this only if you know what you are doing.
• Ability to manually edit almost all data. This is very useful if you want to add information that is not automatically available from the whois records. There are options to automatically write protect the manually added data.
• Extracts and displays all the domain status entries. The previous version picked only the first domain status entry. Version 3 wil display all entries (comma seperated).
• Even better on screen configuration including list row colors and fonts.
• A details view for quickly checking all the information for a specific domain.  This will also allow you to manually edit almost every information (if required).
• The software build date is shown in the left lower corner of the software. You can click it to compare with the currently available version at this site.
• Monitor the MX records of domains. You can quickly find domains that have wrong or missing MX records.
• Simplified SQL query builder and a large number of customized SQL queries.
• A quick and easy to use finder tool that uses SQL. Simply press Ctrl-F, type in a part of a domain name, DNS server or any other data and find all the domains that match!
• Ability to run a remote web-script on Domain Name Alerts (record change)
• DAO (Data Access Objects> is no longer required. The software now uses ODBC and should run as long as the ODBC driver for MS jet Engine is installed (this is mostly true for Windows installations anyway).

What is the upgrade policy?

All WMD ISP customers who are within their free upgrade period (12 months from the date of purchase) will get a free upgrade to the new version. So if you had purchased WMD ISP after July 1, 2007 you will get a free upgrade.

If you are not eligible for a free upgrade, you will be able to purchase an upgrade for about 25-30% of the full price.
